Facebook Inc.'s chief privacy officer slammed the “rising tide” of opposition to personalized advertising, saying one threat to the industry comes from Apple Inc.'s new privacy regime.
The iPhone maker is rolling out new privacy features that limit the ability of mobile apps from Facebook and other companies to gather data for targeted ads. The features include a pop-up message asking users to permit or deny apps the ability to track them.
