FabFitFun Inc., which sells beauty and fashion products through online subscription boxes, faces a federal court lawsuit over a data breach earlier this year.
The retailer acted negligently and violated the Colorado Consumer Protection Act when it failed to safeguard customer data, Cheryl Gaston alleges in a proposed class action filed Oct. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Gaston, a Colorado Springs, Colo. resident who ordered a FabFitFun subscription in May, said she received a data breach notice from the Los Angeles-based company in late September, according to her complaint.
