Experian, T-Mobile Ink $16 Million Hack Deal With States (1)

A coalition of 40 states reached settlements worth a combined $16 million with Experian Plc and T-Mobile US Inc. over a 2015 breach of credit-related consumer data.

The companies also agreed to boost their data security practices as part of the settlements with state attorneys general announced Monday.

In September 2015, credit reporting bureau Experian reported that an unauthorized actor gained access to part of its network storing personal information on behalf of a client, T-Mobile.
