Ex-Grubhub Worker Alleges Food App Negligently Allowed Data Hack

Grubhub Holdings Inc. failed to protect personal information that was stolen in a January 2025 data breach affecting tens of thousands of people, according to a complaint filed in federal court by a former employee.

The complaint alleges Grubhub failed to implement adequate security measures to protect customers’ and employees’ personal information, including Social Security numbers, addresses, and financial data. Grubhub notified affected individuals about the breach Feb. 3, 2025, according to the filing. Brian Bianchi filed the class action lawsuit Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
