Evolve Bank Ransomware Class Action Stayed Pending MDL Ruling

A federal judge stayed a proposed ransomware class action against Evolve Bank & Trust awaiting a ruling on combining dozens of similar complaints related to a cyberattack the bank discovered in May.

Judge Mark S. Norris granted Evolve’s motion to stay proceedings in the case brought by bank customer Anton Shevchenko pending the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation’s decision on transferring and centralizing his complaint and “several dozen other actions,” according to a Thursday docket entry in the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.
