Erickson Cos.’ $550,000 Data Breach Deal Gets Initial Court Nod

Arizona-based Erickson Cos. would pay $555,000 to settle a proposed class action alleging it failed to protect the personal information of nearly 12,000 employees that was exposed in a 2024 data breach, under a deal given initial approval in federal court.

Class members would be eligible for a reimbursement of up to $5,000 in documented losses related to the breach and a pro rata share of a $225,000 settlement fund after deduction of attorneys’ fees and other costs, according to the plaintiff’s motion for preliminary approval filed in the US District Court for the District of Arizona.
