Envoy Air Sheds Some Biometric Privacy Claims, Must Face Others

A biometric privacy lawsuit against Envoy Air Inc. was trimmed after an Illinois federal judge found some of the plaintiff’s claims were barred because her union had signed onto an interim grievance procedure with the airline.

Plaintiff Maysoun Abudayyeh’s biometric privacy claims arising after the June 2016 interim grievance procedure was struck are dismissed, but those predating it may proceed, Judge Andrea R. Wood wrote in an opinion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
