Doordash to Pay $375,000 for California Privacy Violations (1)

California Attorney General Rob Bonta reached a settlement Wednesday with Doordash to pay $375,000 and come under new compliance obligations after alleged violations of the California Consumer Privacy Act .

The settlement is the second enforcement penalty to be announced under the California privacy law. Bonta reached a $1.2 million penalty with Sephora in 2022.

The San Francisco food delivery app company allegedly sold customer personal data without providing an opportunity for consumers to opt out, according to an investigation. The data included consumer names, transaction history, and addresses.
