Disney Hit With Children’s Privacy Lawsuit Over YouTube Videos

Walt Disney Co. fails to mark YouTube videos as “made for kids,” resulting in children having their data being used for targeted advertisements by third parties and served ads by the entertainment giant itself, according to a proposed Video Privacy Protection Act class action filed Friday.

Video marked for children on the Google unit’s platform are subject to a number of restrictions, including limits on targeted advertising. The complaint comes days after the company reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over these alleged practices.
