Discovery Hit With Class Action Over Facebook Pixel on HGTV.com

Discovery Communications LLC disclosed the personally identifying information of visitors to its HGTV.com website to Meta Platforms Inc. without consent in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, according to a proposed class action.

The complaint, filed Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, states that the VPPA prohibits the disclosure of personally identifiable information about a consumer’s video viewing history without consent.
