Digital Privacy Laws: California and Beyond (Video)

In the wake of high-profile data breaches at some of the world’s biggest companies, lawmakers and regulators are starting to take seriously protections for consumers’ online privacy. The California Consumer Privacy Act, which went into effect on Jan. 1, 2020, is the country’s first comprehensive law that gives users control over their own data - and it likely won’t be the last. In this video, Bloomberg Law’s Dan Stoller details what businesses need to know about California’s new law and analyzes what’s next in privacy regulations on the state and federal level.
