DialAmerica Marketing Inc. would pay up to $2 million to settle allegations it negligently failed to protect the personal information of current and former employees in connection with a 2021 data breach, under a proposed settlement filed in federal court.
The settlement fund would provide $50 payments to class members residing in California; reimbursement of up to $600 per class member for out-of-pocket costs related to the breach, including $15 per hour for up to five hours of time spent mitigating the effects of the breach, such as dealing with fraudulent charges; and 24 months of identity-theft protection.
