Dental Practice Hit With Florida Lawsuit Over Unsolicited Texts

A Broward County, Fla., woman alleges that text messages she received from a dental practice last year such as “We are open today!” violate a federal robocall statute.

TLC Dental-Hollywood LLC sent texts to plaintiff Adriana Hill using an automatic telephone dialing system without her prior express consent, Hill claims in the Jan. 6 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The complaint alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act highlights that companies sending unsolicited text messages and calls run the risk of lawsuits under the federal law.
