Dental Network Accused of Losing Patient Info in Breach (1)

A national dental network was hit with a proposed class action alleging it breached its fiduciary duty and invaded patients’ privacy by failing to protect customer data and insurance information from a data breach last year.

Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance LLC also acted negligently and breached its contracts with customers by leaving its systems open to the attack, plaintiff Niki Paras alleges in a proposed class action filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
