DoorDash Teams With Uber, Grubhub to Fight New York Data Law

A New York federal judge combined lawsuits from DoorDash Inc., Grubhub Inc., and Uber Technologies Inc.‘s Uber Eats challenging a city mandate for delivery apps to share customer data with restaurants.

The cases challenge the same New York City ordinance and make overlapping claims, according to a Jan. 7 consolidation order from Judge Analisa Torres of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

DoorDash’s lawsuit, the first to be brought over the food delivery data-sharing requirement, will serve as the lead case, the order said.
