Deepfake Kid Porn Needs Federal Action, State Law Enforcers Say

Congress should establish a special commission tasked with mitigating artificial intelligence’s use to generate “deepfake” material depicting child sexual abuse, a nationwide coalition of attorneys general urged.

The commission should study how AI could be and is being used to exploit children, then propose policy solutions for deterrence, according to Tuesday letter to House and Senate leaders signed by the top law enforcement officials of 54 US states and territories.
