The National Telecommunications and Information Administration is examining how commercial collection and use of personal information can lead to discrimination.
The federal advisory agency plans to hold three “listening sessions” in mid-December focused on the intersection of privacy and civil rights, according to a notice published Tuesday. Following the sessions, the agency intends to issue a report on how data flows can result in disparate impacts and outcomes for marginalized or disadvantaged communities, the notice said.
