Denmark’s data regulator is investigating a medical company that allegedly posted details of individuals’ positive Covid-19 tests to internal WhatsApp groups.
“COVID-19 test results must be treated confidentially and only shared with relevant parties,” the Danish Data Protection Agency said Monday in announcing it was following up on information first supplied to Danish media by a Copenhagen-based pharma Medicals Nordic employee whistleblower.
Although participants had to give permission for Medicals Nordic to send positive test information to government authorities, the data was allegedly first collated via WhatsApp groups accessible to employees of fourteen “test pods” located across Denmark.
