Czech Cybersecurity Agency Warns of Huawei, ZTE Security Threat (1)

The Czech Republic’s cybersecurity agency is advising against the use of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and ZTE Corp. software and hardware, claiming it poses a security threat.

The multinational companies are based in China, and the country’s laws “require private companies residing in China to cooperate with intelligence services, therefore introducing them into the key state systems might present a threat,” Dušan Navrátil, the director of the Czech Republic’s National Cyber and Information Security Agency, said in a Dec. 17 agency statement.
