The US government on Thursday issued updated cybersecurity goals for critical infrastructure companies after a previous version sparked industry concerns.
High-profile cyberattacks coupled with small-scale breaches over the last few years have inspired greater collaboration between the government and private sector, particularly in industries identified as critical infrastructure such as health-care and telecommunications companies.
As part of that effort, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has been developing voluntary baseline goals to help owners and operators across all 16 critical infrastructure sectors protect national and economic security.
