Fiscal 2023 cybersecurity procurement has surpassed last year’s total spending by half a billion, leading to a new high for the market before all Defense Department reporting is complete.
Pentagon spending in the market, which covers unclassified purchases of tools and services for the protection of networks and data from attack, has been generally steady over the last five fiscal years.
The $6 billion reported so far out of DOD for fiscal 2023 in this market will likely exceed the agency’s previous peak from fiscal 2020 when full data is available for the final weeks of the year.
