CVS Health Hit With Wiretapping Suit Over Tracking Code in App

CVS Health Corp. enabled third-party software provider Quantum Metric Inc. to wiretap its customers’ communications on the CVS Pharmacy app, in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, a proposed federal class action said.

Ariel Brooks and Nora Borowsky alleged that CVS installed Quantum’s “session replay” software on the CVS Pharmacy app, allowing the provider to secretly capture and record the details of their interactions with the app and the contents of their communications without obtaining their consent.
