Court Again Orders Scrap Metal Recycler to Bargain With Union

A federal appeals court ordered a Philadelphia scrap metal recycling company to bargain with its workers’ union to settle allegations that it failed to comply with previous orders from the National Labor Relations Board and the court.

United Scrap Metal PA LLC must recognize and bargain with a Laborers’ International Union of North America local for a contract covering machinery operators and welders, the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said in a Tuesday order.
