Consulting Firm Greylock Hit With Ransomware Attack Class Action

Greylock McKinnon Associates Inc. was hit with a proposed class action alleging its “deficient data security practices” led to a May 2023 ransomware attack “more than sixty-times larger” than the business consulting firm’s initial estimate.

Greylock failed to implement and maintain industry-standard security practices to prevent a cyberattack, and its negligence resulted in more than 340,000 individuals’ personally identifying information and protected health information being accessed by a hacker last year, according to the complaint filed on Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
