A company that offers a platform for digital clinical trials has settled a Federal Trade Commission complaint by agreeing not to falsely claim that it takes part in an EU-U.S. data transfer program.
Medable Inc. misrepresented in its privacy policy that it participated in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework, the FTC said in a Nov. 19 statement announcing the settlement. The company started an application to the program in 2017 but didn’t finish the process, the commission said.
