Comcast Faces Privacy Claims From Debt Collector Data Breach

Comcast Cable LLC and its parent Comcast Corporation violated the privacy of cable subscribers by failing to protect their sensitive data from an April breach of a debt collection agency, according to a proposed class action.

Comcast violated the 1984 federal Cable Communications Policy Act when it shared their personally identifiable information with debt collector FBCS without notice, the complaint filed Tuesday in the US Eastern District of Pennsylvania said.
