Colorado Nears Final Rules on How Companies Treat Consumer Data

Rulemaking to implement Colorado’s consumer privacy law is taking into account companies that must navigate different privacy mandates sweeping across other states, representatives from the state attorney general’s office said at a public hearing Wednesday.

The state is nearing final rules for the Colorado Privacy Act, which takes effect July 1 and aims to give residents more control over how businesses collect and use their data.
