Clearview AI Wins Boost In Challenge of UK Data Privacy Fine (1)

Clearview AI Inc. won its challenge of a £7.5 million ($9.1 million) fine by the UK’s data privacy watchdog for collecting images on British citizens without their knowledge, after a court found the regulator lacked jurisdiction in the case.

The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office in its May 2022 decision fined Clearview AI and ordered it to delete the data it had collected on UK residents and stop scraping any more such data from the internet.
