Chili’s Faces Payment Card System Data Breach Class Action

Class claims against the corporate parent of restaurant chain Chili’s allege that poor data security controls led to a data breach that was exposed May 11.

Chili’s joined The Wendy’s Co., PF Chang’s China Bistro Inc., and Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. as victims of hackers who targeted their point-of-sales systems and grabbed valuable payment card data. Restaurant chains that don’t improve security of their payment card systems could face more cyberattack risks and be on the hook for costly class action harm.
