A federal court in Florida must re-analyze its decision to green light nationwide and California class actions for Chili’s Grill & Bar customers who sued the restaurant chain after their credit and debit card numbers were stolen in a cyberattack, the Eleventh Circuit ruled.
The Middle District of Florida must clarify the boundaries of the classes in the litigation, which was filed in 2018 following a hack that affected 4.5 million customers’ data, the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said on Tuesday.
