CenturyLink Gets Deal on Claims it Exposed Customer Records (1)

CenturyLink Inc. settled claims that weak security protections led to the exposure of more than 2.8 million customer records, according to court papers filed in a federal court in Washington state.

The deal, the terms of which are unknown, means CenturyLink won’t have to face allegations brought under consumer protection laws in 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to the notice of settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
