CDK Global Sued Over Hack of 15,000 Auto Dealerships’ Software

Car buyers’ class action disputes against software company CDK Global Inc. are piling up in Illinois federal court over a June 18 cyberattack that shutdown or limited operations in over 15,000 auto dealers across North America.

The breach exposed the personal information of customers and employees, according to one of six complaints filed so far in the US District for the Northern District of Illinois. The hack, attributedto an Eastern European cybercrime group , continues to disrupt retail services for dealers. Hackers demanded a ransom which the company plans on paying, Bloomberg News reported.
