The California Privacy Protection Agency has initiated its formal rulemaking process, bringing the organization one step closer to promulgating final regulations under the state’s landmark privacy law.
The start of formal rulemaking, announced July 8, kicks off the written comment period that will close at 5 p.m. Pacific time on August 23, according to the notice of proposed rulemaking.
The agency in May released a first draft of the regulations, which cover topics ranging from opt-out preference signals to consumer complaints as companies gear up for the bulk of the California Privacy Rights Act to take effect Jan. ...
