California Privacy Agency Director Applications Under Review

Job applications for director of the California Privacy Protection Agency are currently under review, chairperson Jennifer Urban said during a Tuesday board meeting.

The posting closed Aug. 29, and board members will be discussing potential appointments Tuesday and Wednesday during closed session.

The agency, established after Californians last year voted to update the state’s consumer privacy law, is the first of its kind in the U.S. and will craft regulations and enforce the state’s consumer privacy law, the California Privacy Rights Act.
