A California-based auto warranty company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by placing robocalls to consumers without their consent, according to a new complaint filed in federal court in Colorado Monday.
David Ulery brought the proposed class action complaint against GQ Solutions LLC, claiming that the company placed thousands of prerecorded calls to consumers’ telephone numbers using an automatic telephone dialing system.
GQ Solutions spammed the numbers—which were on the National Do Not Call Registry—to try to sell them auto warranty or vehicle service contracts, Ulery said.
