Bon Secours Mercy Health Hit With Class Action Over Data Breach

Ohio-based Bon Secours Mercy Health Inc. failed to protect the personal information of thousands of people that was exposed in a data breach that took place between April and July, a proposed federal class action said.

Alison Lausche alleged that BSMH breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data security measures and provide timely notice of the breach.
