Clearview Asks to Keep Biometric Privacy Suit in Federal Court

Clearview AI Inc. has asked the Seventh Circuit to reconsider its recent decision to send a proposed biometric privacy consumer class action back to state court in Illinois, arguing in a recent filing that federal courts are indeed authorized to hear the dispute.

Illinois resident Melissa Thornley claims that Clearview sold her biometric data to third parties in violation of the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act.
