Menasha Packaging Company LLC is trying to transfer a biometric privacy case against it from state to federal court in Illinois, arguing the case should move because the company is headquartered in a different state.
The company violated the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act by collecting employees’ biometric fingerprint data through a time-keeping system without first getting written permission, an ex-worker alleged in a proposed class action in Illinois state court. Menasha Packaging wants to move the case to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
