Cryptocurrency exchange BAM Trading Services Inc. and its identity-verification vendor Jumio Corp. must face a proposed class action alleging they collected account holders’ facial geometry in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
Plaintiff Kamil Kuklinski adequately pleaded a cause of action against BAM Trading and Jumio, and neither entity qualified for an exemption under BIPA for financial institutions that are subject to the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Judge Stephen P.
