Jumio Corp. must face allegations that its facial recognition software used by cryptocurrency exchange Binance violated users’ biometric privacy, an Illinois federal court ruled.
Binance customer Cory Davis sued Jumio claiming that its identity-verification software integrated into the exchange’s app collected his unique biometric identifiers without his notice or consent in violation of an Illinois biometric privacy law.
