Better Home Hit With Lawsuit Over Google, LinkedIn Web Trackers

Better Home & Finance Holding Co.—a residential mortgage, insurance, and real estate company—was sued for allegedly using online trackers from Google and LinkedIn without its customers’ consent.

The proposed class action on behalf of “thousands, if not millions” of people said that Better Home collects personal and financial data—like home addresses and credit scores—to provide its customers real estate services.

Those customers expected that information to remain private, not disclosed to search and advertising company Google and Microsoft-owned professional network LinkedIn, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
