AT&T Reaches Deal to End Bitcoin Miner’s SIM-Swap Hack Lawsuit

AT&T Inc. and a Bitcoin miner who alleged that company employees helped hackers commandeer his phone seven times agreed to permanently end a three-year-long legal battle, according to a case dismissal filed in federal North Carolina court.

The dismissal deal prevents Bitcoin miner Jason Williams from bringing the same federal hacking and state consumer protection claims in the future. The terms of the agreement were not included in the joint stipulation of dismissal motion filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
