The attorney general of Arkansas sued
Those third parties then sold the data to insurance companies, who used the information to increase insurance rates, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in an Arkansas state court in Phillips County by the office of Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin (R).
The lawsuit estimates that more than 100,000 Arkansans’ data was collected without their consent in violation of the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
