Arizona Auto Dealer Data Security Law Survives Challenges (2)

The state of Arizona and car sellers beat some federal court challenges to a law that regulates information in auto dealer computer systems, though other efforts to overturn the statute will continue.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in a decision Wednesday dismissed seven claims against the law brought by CDK Global LLC and Reynolds and Reynolds Co., which own and operate the dealer management systems.

The court let some of the companies’ claims over copyrights and the law’s constitutionality move forward.
