Apple’s New Privacy Labels on Apps Face Congressional Scrutiny

House Democrats ask Apple CEO Tim Cook to improve the company’s new app privacy labels in response to reports they are misleading and inaccurate.

  • House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone and Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee Chair Jan Schakowsky wrote to Cook on Tuesday, asking for details on how Apple audits privacy information provided by app developers and about the iPhone maker’s enforcement policies when an app fails to provide accurate privacy information
