Apple Moves to Dismiss Suit Against Israeli Spyware Maker NSO

Apple Inc. moved in federal court Friday to voluntarily dismiss its suit against NSO Group Technologies Ltd., the Israeli spyware maker it accused of illegally surveilling its users.

Apple told Judge James Donato of the US District Court for the Northern District of California that it still believes in the merit of its claims, but that “proceeding further with this case has the potential to put vital security information at risk.”

The suit alleged that NSO spyware is exploiting Apple products to illegally monitor “government officials, journalists, businesspeople, activists, academics, and even U.S. citizens.” Apple’s allegations echoed a suit by ...
