The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Jan. 27 dismissed on res judicata grounds a putative class action against American Express Co. alleging that it transmitted credit cardholders’ personal financial information to foreign-based call centers, thus making the information subject to interception by the U.S. government (Pickman v. Am. Express Co., N.D. Cal., No. 3:11-cv-05326-WHA).
