Ally Financial Dodges Consumer Claims Over Debt-Collection Calls

Ally Financial Inc. dodged a potential consumer class action alleging its debt-collection efforts violated federal anti-robocall law.

The dialing system involved doesn’t breach the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan ruled Tuesday. The ruling relied on TCPA limits that the U.S. Supreme Court recently set out in a case involving unwanted texts from Facebook Inc.
