MADRID—In a move it said would aid investigations while better protecting personal data, Spain’s Data Protection Agency (AEPD) May 3 announced it has entered into a collaboration agreement with the General Council of the Judicial Power (Consejo General del Poder Judicial, CGPJ), the constitutional body overseeing Spain’s Judiciary.
According to the AEPD, the agreement will promote the implementation of measures and guarantees necessary for judges to independently operate to administer justice while also allowing the AEPD to work to protect the privacy rights of data subjects.
