Advanced Medical Management LLC, Points Group LLC, and a prospective class of some 300,000 patients reached a $2.5 million settlement in a dispute over a May 2023 data breach that exposed personal and medical data.
Judge James K. Bredar approved the settlement agreement in what he said was a complex case, according to a June 25 decision in the US District Court for the District of Maryland. The procedural history of this case is “somewhat complicated,” Bredar said, given the numerous related federal and state court cases that have been dismissed, consolidated, and removed to the court.
